The e-cigarette is a sophisticated, battery-powered device to give you a safe nicotine delivery experience that resembles cigarette smoking.
The harmful stuff in cigarettes, the carbon monoxide, smoke and cancer-causing toxins found in tobacco are not present in the vapor produced by electric cigarettes. As a result, many are able to safely wean themselves off of tobacco. If they choose to continue smoking, they will receive the nicotine they crave when smoking electronic cigarettes safely and efficiently — without offensive odors or ashes.
All fired up… not
Electric cigarettes of all brands and styles have five basic parts:
• Inhaler
• Battery
• Indicator light
• Atomizing device
• Liquid container (the cartridge)
Like tobacco cigarettes, electronic cigarettes generate heat, but not in the same way. There is no dangerous flame; e-cigs have a small heater called an atomizer, which heats a liquid nicotine cartridge to inject tiny droplets of liquid into the flowing air, creating the vapor/smoke. This safe and odorless vapor is inhaled and exhaled, giving smokers the sensation of smoking a real cigarette. The temperature of the vapor generated by the electric cigarette is between 50 and 60 degree celsius, the same as an ordinary tobacco cigarette.
Electric cigarette operation is controlled by a smart computer chip. Yes, electric cigarettes are a form of computer hardware, and there is a software program embedded in the controller chip.
Models different as far as operation is concerned. Some electric cigarette units internal sensor will activate every time the smoker puffs, causing the end of the e-cigarette to light up as a tobacco cigarette normally does. Other models use a push-button system that gives more control over battery usage, and switches automatically to standby mode when the smoker isn’t using it. Neither style produces smoke while in standby mode.
E-cigarettes are battery operated and never lit. There is no danger of errant cigarette stubs or ashes causing fire. Electric cigarettes turn themselves on automatically when you puff, and off when you are finished.
